A proper edge needs the right tool, and this double-sided diamond pocket sharpener delivers. Unlike pull-through sharpeners that strip away too much metal and shorten your blade’s life, this manual sharpener keeps your knives in top condition without unnecessary wear.
- Dual Grit for Versatile Sharpening – Coarse 400-grit for restoring dull edges, and fine 600-grit for honing a razor-sharp finish.
- Diamond-Coated Efficiency – Works faster than traditional waterstones, requiring no messy lubrication.
- Compact & Portable – Folds down to 12.5 cm for easy storage and carry.
- Durable & Easy to Spot – Fluoro orange plastic casing ensures it’s not easily lost in your gear.
- Reliable Edge Maintenance – Ideal for kitchen knives, hunting blades, and everyday carry tools.
Built for convenience and long-term performance, this folding diamond sharpener is a must-have for anyone who values a keen edge.
Recommended Sharpening Angles & Technique for the Folded Pocket Knife Sharpener
Sharpening Angles:
- Kitchen Knives: 15°–20° per side (Western-style), 10°–15° per side (Japanese-style)
- Pocket & Hunting Knives: 20°–25° per side
- Heavy-Duty Blades (Choppers, Machetes): 25°–30° per side
Sharpening Technique:
- Secure the Sharpener: Open the sharpener fully and place it on a stable surface or hold it securely in your hand.
- Start with the Coarse (400-Grit) Side: If your blade is dull, use the coarse side first.
- Angle the Blade: Hold your knife at the recommended sharpening angle, maintaining consistency throughout.
-
Use Smooth, Controlled Strokes: Draw the blade across the sharpener from heel to tip, applying light, even pressure.
- Push method: Move the blade away from you as if shaving off a thin layer.
- Pull method: Draw the blade toward you while maintaining the same angle.
- Repeat: Stroke each side of the blade evenly (5–10 strokes per side) until you feel a burr forming on the opposite side.
- Switch to Fine (600-Grit) Side: Hone the edge with lighter strokes to refine and polish the blade.
- Final Touch: If available, strop the blade on leather or a smooth surface to remove any remaining burrs.
For best results, maintain a consistent angle and avoid excessive pressure. Regular touch-ups on the fine grit side will keep your knife sharp without excessive material removal.
